So a few days ago I see the cinema at my town is showing Due Date. I thought this would be something like Hangover, but I guess I had my hopes high.
Plot:
"Peter Highman (Robert Downey Jr.) must get to LA in five days to be at the birth of his firstborn. He is about to fly home from Atlanta when his luggage and wallet are sent to LA without him, and he is put on the "no-fly" list. Desperate to get home Peter is forced to accept the offer of Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis) to hitch a ride with him cross-country. Peter is about to go on the most terrifying and agonizing journey of his life."
Anyway, the movie has it's funny moment's, however has some that are really weird. A scene where Robert Downey punches a kid is kinda brutal. Zach plays his role in much a homo-erotic way and throughout the whole film you can see that Robert D. is not really comfortable with that. One of the problems is that some of the stuff that is supposed to be funny really ain't. All in all I don't really have much to say about this comedy. The script and everything has it flaws. However, you can't call it a huge fail, it has it's moments.
Overall 6/10, if you have spare time, take a look!
here's the trailer!
P.S. Yeah, I know, the movie came out in november 2010. However, my cinema (and my whole country) get's certain stuff late, so as this movie. Oh well, I can only hope for better time :)
A desperate NetFlix moment, huh?
ReplyDeleteSeems a little over the top. Hollywood with their senseless comedy. I think its time for a new American Pie.
ReplyDeleteIt looks fun :D
ReplyDeletei still havent seen this movie yet :(
This movie is very funny. i liked it :)
ReplyDeleteDowney : I hate to molecular level
Zac: I have heard this before and I am working on it.
no theme so subject but yet it was taken quite ok:)
I saw this not to long ago, it was pretty good.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll give it a miss, I really disliked Hangover.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for each to their own, and thought I would love it, but I just find it so unfunny and am yet to be able to actually sit through the entire thing! Piece of crap in my balanced view :P
I've heard it's pretty funny, i'll definitely have a look at it.

I've heard nothing but bad things. I don't htink a movie that coasts off of zach galifiankis' crazieness can succeed twice.
ReplyDeletelooks like a vid ill be downloading in the future

Yeah, I'm glad I avoided that one. It didn't seem like either of them could live up to something like The Hangover. The chemistry was weird too. Sometimes, you can have a straight guy and slacker like in 40-year-old virgin with Steve and Seth, but sometimes it just doesn't work like this movie. Thanks for the honest review.
ReplyDeleteI still want to watch this, hehe.
ReplyDeleteThats disappointing, but I might still go see it.
ReplyDeleteThe film is quite funny if we can stand the annoying and trouble making Ethan Tremblay :)
ReplyDeleteMeh...It's a crowded movie market and I find my time precious, so I doubt I'll check this out.
ReplyDeleteApart from your generous score you nailed this review, poor movie, the only time I laughed was when they drove in the roadside ditch and Ethan's character bouncing around in the back of the truck.
ReplyDeleteNice post!!
ReplyDeleteI wait on my blog bro!!!
ne volis kad te zovem Duislav? :))
hmm..thanks for the review. Maybe when i have more sparetime i will watch this film
Druge dve opcije sto nisam gledao a ima u kinu je The Last Exorcism i No Strings Attached! Ne znam sta bi :P
Great review. Thanks! Will wait for it to come out on DVD
ReplyDeleteZack is awesome, I want to see this.
ReplyDeletelooks nice, I'll check this
ReplyDeleteseems like a solid movie, I mean the iron man guy is in there too I see.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review. I might have guessed that it was this sort of movie but who knows, maybe I'll watch it anyway!
ReplyDeletetwo of my favourite actors - will definitely be checking this out
ReplyDeleteThe trailer made it look much better then it was... just like dinner for schmucks. That movie was a waste.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't the greatest movie, but it had some funny moments. I liked it.
ReplyDeletei thought we were at Texico, cause we're outta gas. zach galifianakis is soooo funny
ReplyDeletealan is the best actor imo =)makes me laugh so hard!
ReplyDeleteSaw the ad for this the other day and the dog with the thing on it was enough to turn me off. Besides Steve Martin and John Goodman already made a similar movie that was very good. I don't need to see another version with a dog with a thing around its neck
